Suez has opened a lab in Tomball, TX, dedicated to oil refining, petrochemicals, and upstream oil and gas operations. Experts at the lab will support Suez’s chemicals and monitoring solutions in upstream oil & gas production optimization, asset integrity, flow assurance, and H2S control, including midstream pipeline transportation.
Upstream oil & gas applications are a major focus for the new lab, which will lead upstream R&D for:
  • Chemical additives
  • Monitoring solutions
  • Predictive analytics tools
  • Product application testing
  • Analytical testing of fluids, solids, chemicals and metallurgy
The new laboratory has 80 employees, 50 of whom are engineers, chemists, and technicians. Suez estimates they will process over 100,000 samples and conduct more than 300 customer studies each year.
Staff in Tomball will collaborate with R&D and engineering teams to develop integrated solutions that combine equipment, chemical solutions, and digital monitoring services to treat various types of waters and wastewaters. Suez’s efforts will promote reuse, zero liquid discharge, and waste-to-energy for the upstream business.
