New Orleans, Louisiana September 30

WEFTEC, the biggest annual water and wastewater conference in the U.S., will offer a pre-conference workshop entitled ”Fundamentals of Produced Water Treatment.” The Produced Water Society partnered with the Water Environment Federation to offer this introductory course from 8:30 am to 5 pm. Washington, D.C. October 9

EPA will hold a public meeting at their headquarters at 1201 Constitution Avenue NW, Room 1153 from 10:30 am to 4 pm. They will report the results of their ongoing study. (See “Looking at Ways to Discharge Produced Water” in the last issue of this newsletter). They will be accepting public comments at the meeting. More information will be posted soon for the meeting here.

Arlington, Texas October 13

The University of Texas – Arlington is holding their second annual conference entitled “Responsible Shale Energy Extraction”. It will be held at the Science and Engineering Innovation & Research (SEIR) building on the south side of the University of Texas at Arlington. Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates November 11-12

“Optimizing Capex and Opex for Efficient Produced Water Management in the GCC” is the theme for the upcoming PWS conference to be held at the St. Regis Hotel. The agenda can be perused here.

Keystone, Colorado December 11-13

American Membrane Technology Association (AMTA) will hold a workshop entitled “Membrane Use in Oil, Gas, and Mining” at the Keystone Conference Center. Topics to be covered include low pressure membranes for challenging waters, zero liquid discharge, desalination in remote locations, beneficial use of produced water and associated permitting.

Houston, Texas February 6-7

The 28th annual PWS conference in Houston will be the Marriott Hotel in Sugar Land, Texas will feature technical presentations, panel discussions, round tables sessions, and an entire track dedicated to the booming midstream and unconventional operations servicing oil and gas production in the Permian Basin and other shale plays.
