Career transitions

Duane Germenis left his position as director of business development for Veolia Water Technologies, where he worked for more than four years, to join McKim & Creed as a regional business development director. In his new role, Germenis will continue to be involved with produced water through partnerships with other players. Prior to Veolia, Germenis held management positions at companies including Advanced Sensors, Turner Designs Hydrocarbon Instruments, Siemens Water Technologies, USFilter and Vortoil Separation Systems. He continues in industry association positions for the Produced Water Society, Texas Water Energy Institute, Society of Petroleum Engineers and more.

Water midstream company XRI welcomed Tiffany Ley Greenwood as its new director id business development. Greenwood had previously served in business development roles with oilfield services providers including Vista Proppant and Logistics, Breakwater Energy Services and Clariant.

CarboNet added Paul McCrum to its team in the role of commercial director. McCrum has many years of sales experience in the US oil & gas industry, having worked with companies including Tetra Technologies, Enservco, Bosque Systems and Evoqua Water Technologies.

Mohita Sharma became product manager of LuminUltra, a leading company in developing tests and reagents for environmental, industrial, and diagnostic monitoring. She will provide support throughout the product line lifecycle, from product testing and launch to sunsetting legacy products, and working with customers to identify and fill product gaps. Sharma brings with her more than five years of industrial onsite and 10 years of R&D experience. She previously worked as an industrial postdoc with Shell in association with the University of Calgary. Her wide-ranging expertise includes development of sustainable technologies for wastewater treatment, biochemical production, biomonitoring, water chemistry analysis, chemical efficacy testing for oilfield applications and corrosion control.

Timothy Summers joined Oilfield Water Logistics (OWL) as its reuse operation supervisor in the Midland/Odessa area. Summers has worked in the produced water space since 2017 and has built his reuse knowledge through experience with companies including Pine Island Chemical Solutions, Gradiant, Artesia EcoScience and Water Stone Resources.

OWL also appointed Matt Thiel as CFO, transitioning him from his previous position as the company’s executive vice-president of corporate development, a role which he held for more than six years. Prior to joining OWL, Thiel worked as an associate at financial services firm Stephens and senior consultant at advisory firm EY, and he served as a captain in the US Army for more than five years. He holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering management from the US Military Academy at West Point and an MBA in finance from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University.
