Career transitions

Bill Groves joined Solugen as the technology manager for water treatment. Bill will be providing support to the company’s current saltwater disposal well (SWD) customer base, analyzing SWD operators’ fluids to determine whether Solugen has a best-fit chemical solution and where improvements in such programs exist to aid in opex optimization. Prior to joining Solugen, Groves had worked for oil & gas operator Occidental and service companies including Nalco, Baker Petrolite and Dowell Schlumberger. Groves has been involved in the oversight of surface and downhole chemical programs in the Permian-Delaware Basin. These programs, along with produced water recycling processes for slickwater and X-Link fracturing operations expands the role Solugen can play in the future of the industry.

Jason Kirk joined US-based flowback and produced water treatment company Baleen Process Solutions as an account manager. Prior to joining Baleen, Kirk had, since 2017, served as the director of sales and business development for sister companies Water to Sea and Water Vision which provides water treatment solutions via patented electrochemical technology. He has also held positions in business development and sales at Nitro-Lift Technologies, BOA Marine and CETCO Energy Services. Kirk holds a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

James Walls left his position as the global sales director for Advanced Sensors to join the Rocsole technical sales team. In his new role, Walls will be helping to develop sales and marketing for the Rocsole product line. The company was recently awarded a Spotlight on New Technology Award by the 2020 Offshore Technology Conference for its development of its Liquid-in-Tank Inspection system.

Walls has worked in the upstream oil & gas industry since 1989. Prior to joining Advanced Sensors in 2017, he had worked for companies including FMC Technologies, Petrofac, Jorin and Baker Hughes. He holds degrees in chemistry and studied for an MBA at Robert Gordon University.
